365 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF WALKING

Today marks 365 consecutive days of walking. My inspiration is Frank Fleming @NjTank99 who is currently at 545 days today. I enjoy seeing his daily video’s showing he’s walking every day in every form of weather. I can commiserate with Franks’ feelings about the long winter. Us walkers that are outside everyday experience all of the weather here in New Jersey. I think that consistent walking and achieving a full year without any missed days is a worthy goal. Try it. It’s a great challenge.

Below are monthly Fitbit exercise reports showing back in March of 2024 where I stopped missing exercise days.

My weight has changed from 263.9 lbs. average to 225.6 lbs. average.

I averaged 6.95 miles per day last year for a total of 2,534,74 miles.

This year I’m averaging 7.83 miles per day for a total of 649.9 miles.

I averaged 13,061 steps per day last year for a total of 4,780,480 steps

This year I’m averaging 14,758 steps per day for a total of 1,224,878 steps

New Walking Shoe Purchase

Yesterday I purchased some New Balance Fuelcell Walker Elite’s size 11.5 xw. I’ve been wearing New Balance 847’s but they’ve been discontinued. I went to the Princeton @newbalance shoe store and sized up from a wide to an extra wide. The Fuelcell’s appear to be sized narrower .

I got a lot of mileage out of the last set of 45’s and look forward to seeing how the Fuelcell’s wear.

Walking Long

Today I completed my longest walk of 20 miles. This is up 5 miles from last week’s Saturday walk. Really satisfied with the distance. Tomorrow I’ll do a standard 6 mile weighted vest walk to recover. The plan will be to repeat the same next week. Then add the weight vest to the walk.

Current Walking Routine

My current walking routine will be:

Monday – Friday – 14 lb. weight vest 6 mile walk

Saturday – Long 15+ walk no weight vest

Sunday – 6 mile walk no weight vest.

The intent is to use this routine for the month of March and then assess and adjust for April.

I’m looking to build up stamina from the use of the weight vest during the week, challenge myself with the longer walk on Saturday and then a rest/easier walk on Sunday.

Last summer I was walking twice a day and I may consider that again this year.

I may also increase the weight vest to 20 lbs.

Longest Walk

On Saturday I walked 15 miles. Very pleased with the results and I have plans to add more mileage next Saturday. My goal is to find a 20 mile route.

February Monthly Health And Exercise

So it’s the end of my eleventh month of walking with no missed days.

I’ve been battling some weight gain that occurred in January.

This time of year with the weather challenges my steps, miles, minutes are reduced. Looking forward to warmer weather and more steps, miles, minutes

I’m really enthusiastic about my use of my weight vest. I do believe proper use is helping me to not plateau on my goals of losing weight.

Next month I’m looking forward to celebrating a full year of walking without any missed days.

Weight Vest Short Walk

I chose a short walk today. It’s raining here in New Jersey and I want to give my body some time to recover from my 3 hour walk yesterday.
